Units Affiliated to the Adaministration of Student Affairs

       1.   Protection of Students' Rights Unit

       Mission: To educate students about their duties and rights and protect them in accordance with the regulations and rules of the University.

       Objectives:

           1. Raise the awareness of the students of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University and all members of the educational and administrative staff of the rights and obligations of university students.

          2. Provide the necessary legal consultations for the students and enlighten them about their university rights.

          3. Educate the students on how to obtain their rights through resorting to the official bodies within the university, under the rules and regulations in force in the university.

          4. Support the rights of students based on criteria that are consistent with the approved regulations and rules.

          5. Develop the culture of justice and fairness among students and university staff.

       Roles:

         1. Provide the necessary legal consultations for students and inform them of their university rights.

          2. Receive complaints from students regarding academic and non-academic issues encountered by them at the university.

          3. Complaints submitted by students regarding academic and non-academic issues shall be submitted to students' rights protection committee within the College for consideration and taking the required necessary action.

          4. In case of failure of the amicable settlement, students' rights protection committee within the College shall refer the complaint to the    Permanent Committee for Protection of Students' Rights in Deanship of Students Affairs.

​       Mechanism of filing a complaint to students' rights protection committee within the college:

          1. Submit the complaint on the designated form at committee's headquarter, provided that the form is to be filled out with the required accuracy and clarity as well as getting signature of the student.

          2. The student should identify her subject of complaint accurately and attach the documents and evidence proving her right, as well as giving back a receipt to the student indicating receipt of her complaint.

          3. Under no circumstances, the student may not submit a complaint or grievance after 30 days from the date of incident occurrence; also, she is not entitled to file a complaint for the same incident more than once or before more than one body within the university.

​       2.   Student Employment Unit:

               One of the educational and social welfare programs offered by the university to enhance its role in development and training of students, including employment of students within premises of the university as per hours paid system, where student partnership unit receives applications for those desirous to work under this system at the beginning of each semester.

       Objectives:

          1. Develop skills of students by practicing some administrative work at various facilities of the college.

          2. Benefit from students' unoccupied time and assist in gaining experience with a monthly remuneration commensurate with student working hours.

          3. Allow students be familiarized with taking responsibility and abiding by its ethics.

          4. Provide source of income for needy students whose monthly remunerations have ceased.

          5. Achieve benefits for different sectors of the university due to assigning students with some administrative and technical works.

​       Participation controls in student employment program:

        1. The student should be enrolled on full time basis and attend regularly.

        2. The student should not have been subject to a disciplinary penalty.

        3. The student is not entitled to combine two employment opportunities in one semester.

        4. Employment does not affect level of educational achievement of the student and in case of otherwise, she will be prevented from employment until raising her academic level.

        5. The student should have a GPA of at least 4 out of 5.

        6. The student is not allowed to work in in places of secrecy nature.

        7. The student is not permitted to be employed unless obtaining an approval from the Rector of the University.

        8. The student, who has previously worked at the University for three semesters during her study period, is not permitted to be employed.

        9. The number of student's working hours shall not be less than the minimum of 25 hours per month and not more than 50 hours of work in the Hijri month by not more than 5 hours per day.

       10. The student employment remuneration shall not exceed SR 1000 per month, provided that the hourly rate is calculated not up to SR 20, taking into account that student shall have a private bank account to receive her remunerations. If there is no bank account, we cannot proceed with remuneration payment.

        Roles of Students Employment Program Unit:

       - Announce at the beginning of each semester on opening of registration portal for those wishing to join student employment program through website of the college as well as College billboards in accordance with the regulations announced on website of the university.

       - The Rector of the University shall be the sole responsible for student's approval and acceptance.

       - The accepted students are to be communicated and distributed to the departments within the college as needed.

       - Student's attendance and dismissal shall be monitored on a daily basis and recording that through student employment portal.

       - Calculate working hours of students and report them to student partnership unit's management at the end of each month to pay their remunerations.

      - Deliver student employment certificates to students after adding their working hours at the end of each semester.

       3.   Research and Innovation Unit:

         Research and Innovation Unit at the College seeks to link students of the College of Social Work with Research and Innovation Unit of the University Vice-Rectorate of Student Services to understand everything relative to research and innovation through training, guidance. As well as providing the required support in an attempt to transform student community into a research and innovative society, then convert ideas into research, products to be benefited from.

       4.   Student Support Unit:

       Courses are registered automatically at the university through Banner system, through which student can register subjects that she will study with the possibility of deletion, addition and choosing the appropriate schedule besides getting the final results, the academic record, updating data, calculating the G.P.A  and cumulative average along with following-up her academic status.

        5.   Community Service Unit

             Community Service Unit at College of Social Work is affiliated to the office of “six Ds" under Vice-Rectorate of Community Service Programs, the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education, and Vice-Rectorate of the Academic Support.

The unit is specialized in organizing voluntary programs outside the university includes the initiatives, organizing events, awareness campaigns, training courses, exhibitions and visits to social institutions. Therefore, it targets 70% of those outside walls of Princess Nourah University.

The unit is specialized in implementing programs and activities as a social responsibility within the university e.g., conducting awareness campaigns, lectures, training courses, exhibitions and community visits in accordance with the community service plan of College of Social Work guided by global days with all the evidence and reports for each event. In addition, the unit is responsible for raising the operational indicators during the annual Gregorian quarters.

​       6.   Students Activities Units:

       - Encourage students to participate in student activities and develop their talents.

       - Develop the spirit of leadership and communication skills by engaging them in implementing some activities.

       - Enhance and develop entrepreneurship and creativity among students, and promote a positive spirit of competition.

       - Develop the spirit of discipline and benefit from energies and expertise of students in useful work within the college as well as encouraging   them to participate and interact with the voluntary activities within the university.​

       7.   Alumnus  Unit:

       - The student graduates after successful completion of graduation prerequisites according to the study plan provided that her cumulative average should not be less than (2) i.e. fair degree.

       - Each graduate of Princess Nourah University is to be given graduation certificate in both Arabic and English attested by Dean of Admission and Registration and stamped with the official seal of the university.

       - Each graduate of Princess Nourah University is given an academic transcript in Arabic attested and stamped with the official stamp of the university.

       - All student entitlements of remunerations and allowances will end upon graduation and will cease for those who exceeded the scheduled duration of the program before graduation.

​       Roles of the Unit:

          - Conduct inventory for the expected graduates to create a database for them and update it continuously.

          - Conduct inventory for recruitment agencies and communication with graduates to find out their job status.

          - Prepare a database for institutions and companies relative to graduates.

          - Receive CVs of the graduates and sorting them by major and send them to central graduates unit affiliated to Deanship of Student Affairs.

          - Mentor graduates to obtain training programs and courses necessary to meet requirements of the labor market, and work to develop their level, their scientific and practical skills.

          - Invite graduates to participate in the activities of the college and the university to benefit from their expertise in field of consulting and development of college programs.

          - Measure the employer's satisfaction level with university graduates through questionnaires.

          - Measure the level of satisfaction for university graduates with their academic achievement and skills acquired at the university.

          - Issue graduates leaflets and brochures.

          - Organize a day out for graduates on an annual basis in order to link graduates with the university and with employers as well.

         - Encourage graduates to update their data on graduates' portal on the website of the university.

​       8.   Psychosocial Counseling Unit:

       Services:

          - Provide social and psychological counseling services for students.

          - Investigate cases of students benefiting from grants and loans.

          - Help students develop their personalities through organizing some training courses.

          - Modify some of students' wrong behaviors through rehabilitation and therapeutic sessions.
